Ken van Rees is a Canadian plein air painter which allows him to connect with the natural environment from a different perspective than his scientific background in forestry and soils. He is intrigued by the various intersections of the arts and sciences in his work; particularly, his interest in how art can be used to convey concepts about soils and charcoal from burnt forests.
Honoured to have my soil art work 'Highway 2' purchased by the Senate Of Canada for the release of their Soil Health report which was chaired by the Honourable Robert Black. Click here for more info.
