Ken Van Rees is a Canadian painter who paints plein air which allows him to connect with the natural environment from a different perspective than his science one. He is intrigued by the various intersections of the arts and sciences in his work, particularly his recent interest in soils/charcoal and the arts.
Men Who Paint WASKESIU SHOW & SALE
Black Spruce Gallery
July 25 -26, 2020
Thank you to everyone who came out - the artwork will be in the gallery till the end of September in Waskesiu.
Last October we were was invited by Brent Hammel and Carla Flaman of the Black Spruce Gallery in Waskesiu to spend a week painting in the park in June. With the COVID-19 epidemic in full swing, it turns out, the timing couldn’t be better.
It was a real treat to stay close to home and paint an area that has played such a big part in our shared history. Now an exhibition of the work will open at the Gallery on July 25th. Join us for the artists' reception July 25 & 26th.
If you need to get out of the house, maybe a road trip is in order!
